For the past few years University of Louisiana at Lafayette has experience a growth in population of enrolled students. In result, there has been crowded rooms and sometimes a waiting time just to be able to register in the classes needed. According to my group research majority of people are dissatisfied with the UL scheduling of classes. During this group project my group concluded two major problems that has caused this satisfaction and may be the key to a more sufficient scheduling of classes software.
Allowing Graduate students to teach. This proposal will help tremendously because there aren't enough teachers for students who are about to graduate. A lot of times these classes run out of seats just before I could schedule which pushes back my graduation date and interfere with other issues. So allowing graduate students to teach 300-400 level classes will be a phenomenal help not only to the student but for the school as an whole.
Allowing student of College of Engineering to design program. This second proposal helps with designing the program overall to eliminate all the glitches and flaws students see with it and who else is better to do it than our very own students. This will also be an opportunity for our students to actually get a hands on experience to excel in their field of work.
Overall, both proposals will save money so the cost of this project will be very slim to known.
